Premise Maid Candies is a family owned business located in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Premise Maid Candies was the vision of our father, William Damiano. Established in 1979, Premise Maid was founded on the notion that all the chocolates were to be made on the premises. Therefore, the company name "Premise Maid Candies" was born. Today many of those same philosophies are still the framework we use to guide our family business.
Our humble beginnings included a 700 square foot store in Fleetwood Pennsylvania, one employee and a rent and utility bill of $230 per month. At this time, William Damiano developed the freshest, highest quality chocolates available. He defined the company's fundamental philosophy which was to never sacrifice quality for convenience. Over the years he began selling wholesale to Hess's department stores and other card and gift shops along with a retail store in Fleetwood.
In 1984, the buildings of an old farmstead became Premise Maid's new and present location. This location consists of a stone barn, a carriage house and a farm house on a two acre site in Breinigsville Pennsylvania. All the structures dating back to the Pre-Civil War era have been restored to retain their old world charm. The Damiano family did most of the work themselves hiring in contractors only when needed. Since 1984, the buildings of Premise Maid have grown into a small village that consist of a Chocolate Shoppe, Bakery and an Ice Creamery. The five room carriage house consist of the Bakery and Chocolate Shoppe which are filled with an assortment of freshly baked desserts, hard candies and of course our well known chocolates. The three story stone barn is home to our confectionery manufacturing and also houses our ice creamery which serves forty flavors of our premium ice cream which can be enjoyed in our outdoor courtyard.
As the Breinigsville location thrived, William Damiano's son Joe became Chief Candyman of Premise Maid Candies in 1986. Presently, Premise Maid has approximately 45-50 full and part time employees. The second(and even third!) generation of the Damiano Family is determined to continue the family tradition of manufacturing exceptional chocolates, ice creams, and bakery delicacies from time tested family recipes.
